Arch

Description: Arch
Vertical image of the arch with downtown Athens in the background. The Arch is the traditional entrance to the University of Georgia campus. It serves as a divider between North campus and downtown Athens. The ArchÕs three columns symbolize ÒWisdom, Justice, and Moderation.Ó

Caption: The University of Georgia is the nation's first state-chartered university, incorporated in 1785 by an act of the Georgia General Assembly. Nestled among majestic oaks on the original campus quadrangle, North Campus is still the home of centuries-old buildings including the Holmes-Hunter Academic Building, the Chapel, Old College, New College, the Law School and the Main Library.
